design for nature | earthwild communications & earthwild publishing

earthwild partnership works with charities, community interest companies, social enterprises, voluntary groups and cooperatives to provide a diversity of services from communications, marketing and income generation through to interim management. These are delivered through our consultancy divisions:

Our team – designers, photographers, artists – are all highly talented, creative individuals with an eye and the flair to create and develop your concepts from design to delivery whether it be a leaflet, brochure, interpretation panels, website, development of your brand, photos for a new marketing campaign or illustrations for a new guide or book.

At Design for Nature the environment and sustainability are always at the forefront of everything we do. Our team therefore works closely with environmental print companies. Eco printers that use paper from sustainable forests, with the Forest Stewardship Council’s (FSC) reassuring logo and Chain of Custody Certification, as well as recycled paper, vegetable-based inks that are non-toxic and alcohol substitutes that do not pollute or pose a risk to our health. Using paper with the FSC logo ensures that you can use the FSC logo, which demonstrates your commitment to supporting sustainable forest management.

Design for Nature encourages the use of recycled paper because its production uses up to 70% less energy, and less water, than virgin paper. Indeed, at Design for Nature we will always choose the most eco-friendly and environmentally sustainable options including products and materials that are recycled.

Our associates and consultants have the comprehensive experience to design, develop and manage your communications strategies, digital media and marketing plans; write copy for your printed materials; market your campaigns, partnerships and appeals; manage events and help implement plans to grow members, supporters and regular-givers. All delivered through earthwild communications.

From April 2021 earthwild partnership will be seeking opportunities to publish a diverse genre of books - with an emphasis on wildlife, natural history, ecology, environmental and sustainability. This will include publishing books by photographer and author Joao Nunes da Silva.

Whether working on the development of Montado conservation campaigns with Quercus, marketing for a wildlife rehabilitation centre or writing the English texts for nature books and support with photo-tours, throughout Portugal – earthwild partnership Associate Joao Nunes da Silva, Director of Ilustranatur, and Gary have enjoyed working in partnership for more than 27-years. Since August 1993 to be precise! The friendship continues with Sibel helping with Joao’s new book to be published in 2021.

For more than a decade earthwild’s co-director, Gary Roberts, created and managed Butterfly Conservation’s media office generating comprehensive UK and international coverage through radio / TV broadcasts, interviews, filming, writing features and printed media.

Two notable highlights were managing the media campaigns, communications, events, marketing and relationship engagement for the charity’s ICI Biodiversity Partnership and the Land Rover Woodlands Campaign. During the 3-year ICI Biodiversity Partnership excellent relationships were developed with ICI’s environmental communications team and this resulted in over six-times the sponsorship value being delivered in good PR.  Both the Land Rover Woodlands Campaign & partnership with ICI were concerned with the conservation of endangered species of butterflies and moths, and their woodland and grassland habitats.

A proactive strategy within Butterfly Conservation to build, manage and deliver communications, external relations, marketing and fundraising supported the growth of Butterfly Conservation and supported its vision for the conservation of butterflies, moths and habitats to ensure longer-term sustainability. Extensive media coverage, marketing and public engagement helped grow membership from circa 2,500 to 10,000+.
